Help Setting up the Booster Club

Feb 03

(Posted on behalf of Norah Martin, chair of our Booster Club planning committee)

As you probably know, there has been great interest in forming a parent booster club to jointly support the DSMS and DSHS robotics clubs! The purpose of the booster club is to support our children and staff sponsors through community outreach, volunteer and team support at events, and fundraising.

DSISD guidelines indicate that prospective parent booster club applicants receive Federal 501(c)(3) designation prior to consideration. The fee to apply for the 501(c)(3) is $400.00.

Parent donations are requested to fund this fee. Your seed donation will fund an important endeavor for our kids and for district children years to come.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Best regards,

Norah Martin
Parent of Willy, DSMSTigerRobotics team member

If you would like to make a donation, please use the contact form and we will get back to you with details of where to send checks. Thanks!

Tiger Robotics at the BEST Texas/New Mexico Regional in Dallas

The Tiger Robotics BEST team is just back from a weekend at the Texas/New Mexico Regional competition held at the Garland ISD Special Events Center near Dallas. We all had a great time and learned a lot from seeing the other teams and robots that were taking part. There were 56 teams from two states gathered for competition. Despite mechanical problems with the robot arm which meant that we only scored about half as many points as expected, we placed 43rd in Head-to-Head and 28th Overall for the BEST Award.
